April 23rd Gathering at Malibu Pueblo with Andrew Beath

April 23rd Gathering at Malibu Pueblo with Andrew Beath

Invitation to Gather at Malibu Pueblo with Andrew Beath.

“Andrew Beath’s The New Creation Story is in the great tradition of Thomas Berry’s Universe Story.  It is a terrific book that describes a new, more accurate, and more hopeful story of humankind on its evolutionary journey. It is practical philosophy that gives a context for reflection and action.”

Dear Friends,
Our next gathering will be April 23rd, the day after Earth Day; we’ll make this meeting an ongoing Earth Day celebration! at my family house, also the home of EarthWays Foundation—that we call the Malibu Pueblo. We will gather at 6pm, now that the days are longer and we have more daylight.

Yes, Earth Day is here, notwithstanding our cultural sleepwalking toward the cliff’s edge.  Who are we—we humans—not in regard to each other, but in relationship with the Earth and all living things? When we finally come to know these profound connections, we will resolve the daunting challenges that confront us and endanger our kids. This is the circumstance that we will consider together.

For those who have been to a “book reading” for The New Creation Story, you will find this gathering to be different. The intention is to build community around the relational principles found in the New Creation trilogy, which is subtitled: Spirit, Eros and Climate Chaos.

6 to 8pm Sunday, April 23rd

Malibu Pueblo 20178 Rockport Way, Malibu, CA

There will be a presentation to describe the context in which we find ourselves immersed, in addition to a twenty minute reading from The New Creation Story, and interactive questions pertaining to the human condition: who are we, where did we come from, what are our current planet-threatening challenges, and how we might heal the wounds that this emergency is causing.

Please bring some “finger food” to share with others, but there will not be a full meal so we will officially end before dinner; our time together will include opportunities to visit with each other and enjoy the ocean air, the sunset and the moon rise. We have lots of room, so please bring a friend or two, and feel free to forward this invitation to others.

Beauty, Love and Courage,
Andrew Beath for EarthWays

“A bold and brilliant analysis of the human story set against the predicament of climate change. Beath strikes at the heart (exposes the pain) of our cultural paralysis, explores the root causes and skillfully describes the way to a responsible and enlightened future. I can genuinely say how very good it is, and how particularly poignant it was to read it after the Climate March in NYC—in the context of the ever-present question of what will become of us, what should we do?”

“Beath has written a thoughtful, passionate history of The Planet, The Human Species, and, basically, The Future, where we are now, and where may be headed. It’s both an easy-going and a stunning read, one of these profound books that seemingly come out of nowhere. One of the best reads in a long time, and couldn’t be more timely.”
