For a healthy planet, culture and local livelihood

We are proposing a vibrant community hub that will emerge from a desire for local sustainable businesses, progressive social change, environmental preservation and other similar concerns. Individuals and participants from many different organizations will use this hub to support and inspire one another, thus enhancing and invigorating the work that each one is doing in the world.

Some of our objectives are:

• To make it easier for people to learn more about environmental/social justice groups and their events
• For progressive people in town to gather and meet regularly
• To make it easier to share ideas and projects with others
• To provide a mechanism for people to spend their money at local businesses and support non-profit groups
• To hear about some new tools to help the local progressive community to meet and connect
• To discuss the creation of a relevant and useful calendar of events for the Los Angeles progressives and environmental community citywide
• To learn how we have the potential to reach between 10,000-20,000 in the L.A. area for our events

We intend to be a dynamic space for our community to connect and create a healthier future through the following themes: Social Justice, Locally Owned Businesses, Environmental Restoration, Progressive Local Government, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Economy, creativity of humankind, opportunities for positive change, a bridge between talking and doing, a bridge between anger and inspiration, addressing the gap between rich and poor, building peace through understanding and respect.
